Praise in the Storm with Floride McKoy

Hymn: Great is Thy Faithfulness
1. Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with thee; Thou changest not, thy compassion, they fail not, As thou hast been thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All have I have needed thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

2. Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Refrain

3. Pardon for sin and peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bring hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Refrain

A hymn I can count on to calm my fears and lift my spirits is “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” As a musician, I have been asked to play at weddings, as well as funerals, and this tells me that others receive encouragement from its message, too; whether in full times or empty times.

It speaks not of us and our needs, but praises our Father’s ever new provisions for us at all times. It remembers His loving gifts of the past and assures us of His eternal presence and future blessings.

The scripture that inspired the Hymn is Lamentations 3:22-23
”The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
