The Rev. Marcus A. Kaiser, was an officer in the Navy when he was called to the priesthood. He graduated from Nashotah House in the spring of 2009 and came directly to Holy Comforter with his wife and two sons. (He now has four sons.) He was installed as Rector on August 24, 2014.
Fr. John Sosnowski and his wife, Patti, are critical to the growth and strengthening of our parish. Having moved inland from coastal waters, the Sosnowskis have embraced this parish and lent their talents and expertise, and their faithfulness, to many of the ministries here at Holy Comforter.
Fr. Rhodes has spent much of his career in the mission field. He and his wife, Tina, have recently felt called to train missionaries for local work here in Sumter. Their combined talents have greatly enhanced the spiritual development of our church family in the areas of prayer, healing and celebration.
Fr. Charlie Walton was previously rector at Holy Comforter from 1985 to 1995. He and his wife, Anne, have retired to Sumter and Fr. Charlie has made his many talents available to the church and the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina.
Phil Osborne is a retired U.S. Air Force officer (24 years), a Foreign Policy advisor for the Air Force, and is the Deacon at Holy Comforter. Kipper Ackerman, a graduate of Presbyterian College, brings several years of choral directing and harp performance to the music ministry here at Holy Comforter. Annette Connor has a huge heart for the smallest members of the church and has seen many of her charges grow to adulthood and bring their own children to her.
Victoria (Tori) Griffin is the Children’s Director at Holy Comforter. As a former Sumter school teacher, she brings a love of children, teaching, and creativity to this ministry. She and her husband, Cale, are passionate about building strong Christian foundation in the lives of children.
Lori Grimm is gifted in the provision of the orderly functioning of the church. Her approach is God centered, led by the spirit of God and accomplished with a servant heart. She is able to maintain an appropriate balance, enabling people to serve.
David Marten has been at Holy Comforter since October 2014 and has been having a blast ever since. Although he’s a native Kansan, he’s been living in the Carolinas since 2011. He has several interests ranging from biking to reading, coffee to graphic design, and amatuer carpentry to computer gaming.
